Etude House- LUCIDarling Fantastic Nail Polishes

Recently, I watched a local TV program here in the Philippines called Jessica Soho that featured some of the nail polishes that I used to buy in Divisoria. I used to love those polishes! How cute they looked and how colorful, but I was enlightened by the reality that these little monsters had LEAD in them. Can you believe that?! LEAD!!! Well, to sooth my disheartened soul, I went to my favorite Korean brand and sought my happiness by buying new polishes. I was so happy they had a promo that time; buy two polishes and get one for free! And can I just say that they're absolutely adorable!!

here are the swatches for the nailpolishes. I just tried them on an intermediate pad so meh~! hahaha. The numbers are those that are written at the bottom of the bottle. they're numbered and the rest are written in hangul so i don't really understand pretty much. haha.

I just think they're absolutely adorable. I've been alternating them for about two weeks now and I really love them all! You can see my most recent NOTD in my new blogger account. I wore LUCIDarling Fantastic Nails in 02. It's an adorable peachy+shimmery shade that dries up so fast. When the darling saleslady from EH-SM Sta Rosa swatched it on my unpainted nail I was like O.O because it dried up so fast and I didn't even use a top coat! The color was just super breathtaking I love it! I'll post new NOTDs in my other account so go ahead look at those when you have the time.

Physicians Formula 100% Natural Organic Bronzer

Yey for finally updating my review blog! This is probably the oldest blog I have to date and I'm lemming on letting it go but still, I really want to keep it ._. well meh~! WTF! I'm keeping it! bwahahhaha~! anyhoo, i'm here because I'm posting a review about products that I've been loving to bits and pieces.
First up is my Physicians Formula 100% Natural Origin Bronzer. I've already
posted a review on this in my Tumblr account but here's a more detailed review about this baby. First I want to show you the before and after pics, just to show you that I've really been using it a lot.

here is the picture I took a few months ago, days after purchasing this product. I thought I was really dumb at first for not reading the box clearly because it said that it was for fair-skinned. I'm an NC30-NC45, kinda in between or somewhere in the middle so I though that this product wouldn't work that well for me. Boy was I wrong!

This photo below was taken after a few swipes using my blush brush, not the one it came with. You can see all the designs are still there and are still very intact.
This is how this baby looks now! (photo above) Do you see how much of the product I've used? I use this almost every time I go out. The shimmers aren't as wild as I thought they would be and they actually came as a big help for when I use this for contouring. The darker brown shade is what I mainly use for contouring, while the lighter one for highlighting.

Here are some swatches of the colors. They're actually very useful for me. And if you're a girl who always reaches out for neutral palettes and stuff, this baby can do wonders for you! I love neutrals but there are times that I can't really spend more than 5 minutes to do my makeup. What I do is I just reach for this and use it for my eyes, a little swipe of color on my cheeks, plus a pink lippie and it goes a long way.

what i do like :
  • color and the pigmentation.
  • for 399php (around 9-10$) you get enough to last you months and even years if you're not as much of a junkie as me
  • Eco-friendly!
  • comes with a clear mirror at the back
what i don't like:
  • boo for the packaging because it gets dirty easily. well i guess since they're going for less plastic right? but still, they should have considered using a color that doesn't get too dirty overtime.
  • the brush that came with it was pretty useless. with an organic product like this one you need to use a really dense brush since the pigmentation is not like other non-organic cosmetics.
will I repurchase once I hit pan?- Yes! I'll probably try the shade that really goes for my skintone just to see if it works as well as this one, but overall it's a yes!

Etude House Haul and Review

Ok, so I finally got to visit my real home. Kidding! Haha, well anyway, I actually got to visit Etude House. Etude House is a Korean cosmetics line that is just new to the Philippines. Prior to getting a branch in Festival Supermall, Etude House used to only have one branch in SM Megamall. SM Megamall is one of my favorite malls of all time, but going there just to visit one shop is really not that practical so when I heard that they've finally opened a branch in Festival Supermall, I saved up and went there as soon as I could :D Hihi,,,Well okay, I did a huge damage to my now tearful wallet. It was worth it though, I finally got all of the stuff I've been ogling at while looking at other blog posts/hauls in the web. I find their stuff cute and affordable, as compared to some of the stuff from skinfood and other stores I know. Some of their designs remind me of the designs from Ana Sui though haha. But I like that line as well so it's no biggy. I'm uber happy with the stuff that I got from that store. Along with the rest of the EH stuff I got are the top two stuff that I super wanted, the Proof 10 Eye Primer and the Color Me Nude Lip Concealer. I bought a total of 9 stuff. I got a free BB Cream Cellphone/bag charm and a membership card. You actually get the membership card if you buy 500++ stuff from them so go and buy some stuff there. :) hihi.

here's my Pink Membership card that I hang on my coin purse

The complete damage haha

So here's my review so far...

First stop is the Proof 10 Eye Primer. It's not as close to the Urban Decay Primer Potion but it does help a lot since I have a problem with making my eye make up last long. The packaging is uber cute and the consistency is just right (Well for me it is haha). I've used it for my own make up and for my cousins' graduation make up and it did just the trick. Super amazing. Plus it isn't as expensive as the UDPP.

Second is the Color Me Nude Lip Concealer. This and the primer were my top choices before I got the chance to visit Etude House and I guess this is because of my total love for nude lips. haha. When you think about it it's actually similar to a regular concealer but it's more lip friendly. Plus it has a sweet scent that I actually love. It doesn't completely cover my lips but when I use it with my Revlon Nude lipstick it actually does the trick.

Third is the Oh M'Eye Lash Petticoat or the Mascara primer. It's a good primer for both black and colored mascaras. My mom gave me a Rimmel Electric Blue Mascara and before I put it on I usually use this product first. It makes the Blue color of the mascara pop out more and the mascara stays on longer. And I think my lashes stays put more when I have this on.

Fourth is the Petit Darling Eyes single eyeshadow in dark purple. It's very pigmented and it's easy to blend. I didn't expect the color to blend as easily since the last few korean branded eyeshadows I got failed with giving me that. I love the color! Purple is really the color of the year and I'm loving it! Too bad I didn't have this during graduation. It would really look great in my eyes.

Fifth, the Etude House Lash comb. It's relatively cheap but it's really helpful. Michelle Phan, a youtube makeup guru taught her viewers how to tight line their eyes and how to put mascara on using a cut out from a card right? well, with this tool there's no need for that anymore. It helps in combing out the lashes, putting on mascara, and tight lining the eyes. The job gets done faster and a lot easier.

Sixth, the Black Head Off Finger Tip Silicon. It helps in getting rid of Black heads and white head. I haven't tried it so far since I only have white heads around my nose area. But it does make my skin feel smooth afterwards.

Seventh, my lovely Etude House Romantic Mirror. It is so cute! It kinda reminds me a lot of the Ana Sui stuff that Fafinettex3 showed in her videos on Youtube. The back has a more romantic looking detail on it.

My lil muffin looking at Mommy's new mirror :)

Eight, the Eye Contour Brush. I was actually leaning on buying either this one or the Stippling brush but I ended getting this one instead. I recently bought an ELF foundation brush so I figured I should try that brush for a bit before moving on to other brushes.

And the Ninth and last of this haul is the Precious Mineral BB Cream. It has SPF 30/PA++. I didn't actually buy it though haha..anyhoo.. It is so good. I'm still trying to finish my caviar BB Cream so I've yet to try it on for a longer time. I did try it once and it felt really good. I don't know if I'll buy a larger one though, since I just bought a BB Cream from another brand. Will blog about that other one soon.

That's all for now. I'll update again soon when I get the chance to buy new stuff haha. :) For more information about Etude house you can check out their website at this site=> Etude Global

broken hearts

being broken hearted can lead one person to be different in many ways. For someone like moi, i tend to be a little artsy. One moment you see me writing a story like a lunatic and another, you see me drawing hell as if i've been there. Weird, i know. But to some, that's still considered mild. I'm not the type who drinks alcohol so much just to forget problems. I try to hurt myself sometimes but not to the point of bleeding. I don't get the point in doing it anyway.
Why am i like that?
One reason...
Drinking til you throw up or cutting yourself won't bring him/her back. Maybe that person will come back but not out of love for you but for pity. This is the hard truth. So why waste your precious time? God has plans for you, and He planned the best future for you. The only thing you have to do is stand up, move on and find the right person. Just make the best out of life while looking for him or her. It won't always be easy, but who cares? The more trials you experience, the more you learn to be strong.
As for me.,i'm already looking for *him* I've already started my journey. :-)

Final Demo, Proposal Defense, and a Stormy Day

Okay, so the past weeks hasn't really been friendly to me at all. I admit that I almost gave up in the midst of it but then again, if I did, I wouldn't be able to graduate. It's a dream of mine to wear that beautiful black toga and that blue Arts and Sciences sash. I want to walk down towards my future together with my friends and family. But if I fail to finish those exhausting requirements, that dream would take another year before it came true.

So here were the things I had to tackle for my graduation:
:bulletred: Final Demonstration (for practice teaching)
:bulletpink: Materials for my final demo
:bulletblue: Proposal defense (for thesis)
:bulletpurple: Powerpoint presentation for my proposal defense
:bulletgreen: Prepare final proposal paper for defense

:bulletred: FINAL DEMONSTRATION :bulletred:

I was having problems with my practice teaching from the start. My cooperating teacher (CT) wasn't so nice and the environment wasn't so friendly as well. I couldn't help but think that my CT is doing it on purpose to make me even more tired. She and the principal couldn't even understand that aside from practice teaching, I still have other subjects like Research (a.k.a. Thesis), Trends and Issues in Preschool, Economics, and Teaching Profession. It's really hard for me to focus on just one thing. I have to balance everything out.

Fortunately, I got to finish everything but only after going through a lot of difficulties. Last last week we had a demo dry run, and I wasn't exactly feeling my best at that time. I was really tired. So I failed. I wanted to cry but I couldn't let them see me so I went to school and when I met my best friend I started crying :crying:. But I resolved that when Tuesday came.I prepared again and I redrew all the materials. I'll post the pictures tonight if I feel like it :XD:. And last Friday, September 25, I finally got to finish my Final Demo~!!  A big thanks to a lot of people who prayed for me~!

:bulletwhite: Mom & Dad
:bulletwhite: Hazel (bff)
:bulletwhite: Sai (bff)
:bulletwhite: 4EDUC people (coursemates/batchmates)
:bulletwhite: Education lower years
:bulletwhite: Mami Ocenar

 I'm so happy right now

:bulletpink: PROPOSAL DEFENSE :bulletpink:

Okay, Saturday was the most memorable day for me, my groupmates and my friends. We finally got to experience the proposal defense. It was good I suppose. We didn't have much trouble, and I can confidently say that our paper is approved. Probably with minor revisions, but still, it is approved. :XD: I'm too confident, I know. :D but if I'm not confident, then what would happen to our paper right?

However, on a much scarier note, Saturday was also a terrible day. After the proposal defense, we were originally planning to go to Waltermart to celebrate  we wanted to go and enjoy some karaoke, but we couldn't. The rain was pouring so hard and the water was starting to rise. :omg: When we left the Delas Casas building, our school's main building, we quickly walked through the path walk. The water was already up past my foot, of course, that was still not too high. However, the moment we left the campus, we faced a much a higher flood. I was worried, not only because of my car or because my laptop was with me, but because during that Saturday, my sister came with me to school for her NSTP class. I wasn't sure if she already got home or if she was still in school. Unfortunately my phone :mobile: was still loadless so I couldn't call her or text her. When we got near one of the canteens outside the campus I saw her and her *friend*. I asked my friend Gary to fetch her and we stayed in an empty canteen where there were tables that they could sit on. I sacrificed by standing on foot, while my legs were submerged in knee-deep water. Even though it didn't show, I was really scared. :tears: Then the water started to rise a bit more, until it reached near my thighs. I was scared, for myself, for sister, and for my friends. I knew everyone was tired. We've yet to eat lunch that time and I couldn't feel any hunger coming to me anymore. Another bad news came to use at around 2:47 pm. According to a friend of ours the dam in Real was going to open at 3pm. By then, I know that the water will rise, not only waist high, but neck high. I was scared. Right then and there, we were determined to pass the water and leave. And so, we recalled what the people did in people power and walked hand in hand until we got to pass. I was worried for my sister, she was so thin that she was almost taken away by the water. Thank God there was a kind man who carried her and helped her pass. Thank you manong~!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we finally survived. Kuya Marvin came and fetched us. And I can finally say, that we're saved! I wasn't feeling so well though, but I was happy that I got come. I'd prefer getting stuck at home than getting stranded somewhere else while submerged in water. I seriously thought I was going to die with hypothermia. :tombstone: Luckily, I'm still here.

Everyone, let's help our fellow kababayans. Many have lost their homes and belongings. Many are still stranded somewhere. And many have already died. Let's pray that as one nation, we survive this disastrous calamity.
